Try-Out Card

Should you want to try out the SSC, we will give you a free ‘Try-Out Card’ once. This Try-Out Card is valid for one day.

Who can get a Free Try-Out Card?
The Free Try Out Card is only for TU/e and Fontys students & staff logging in to our website for the first time. If you have ever logged in or had a subscription before, you can buy a Try-Out Card once a year for E7.50 at the SSC info desk on presentation of ID and proof of enrollment.

How do I get the Free Try-Out Card?
When you log in with Surfconext for the first time as a TU/e or Fontys student/employee, the Free Try-Out Card will automatically appear in your subscription overview: Profile ---> My shopping. You can then use it once within 3 months by visiting the SSC.

What can you do with the Free Try-Out Card?
You can take part in group lessons, association practices and use the gym and swimming pool for one day. You can also use the tennis courts and squash courts once with another sports card holder. With the exception of the swimming pool, you need to make a reservation in advance for the day you want to come and exercise. Reservations can be made via our website.

What should I do when I enter the SSC?
As a TU/e student or employee, your TU/e campus card is valid for one day and can be scanned upon entry. As a Fontys student or employee, you can come to the SSC info desk where they will activate your Free Try-Out Card.

If you study elsewhere in NL or are a TU/e or Fontys Alumnus, it is possible to purchase a ‘Try-Out Card’ once per academic year for E7.50. A Try-Out Card is valid for one day.

Who can purchase a Try-Out Card?
Everyone who is entitled to a sports card: TU/e students & employees | Fontys students & employees | Students other NL-HBO | Students other NL-universities | TU/e alumni | Fontys alumni | Partners of sports card holders.

What can you do with a Try-Out Card?
- You can participate in group lessons and associations practices, and use the fitness and swimming pool. If you would like more information about the Fitness, please send an email to sscfitness@remove-this.tue.nl.. It is possible to view the facilities during opening hours.
- You can not use the tennis courts and squash courts.

How do I purchase a Try-Out Card? / Book a spot
You can purchase the Try-Out Card at the SSC info counter by showing your TU/e campus card or Fontys card (in combination with ID). Students from other universities or university colleges must show their registration in Studielink in combination with ID. In case of a Try-Out card for a partner, you need to come together to the info desk and show proof of partnership.
