The road to renewal!

North Wing Construction

The outlines of the new changing rooms, floors, fitness area, Dojo and Body & Mind room are becoming more visible! The plan is to complete these spaces by the end of December. After that, they just need to be furnished, and we can start using them from the end of January 2024.

SSC Sports Café

Starting from 12 July, our beloved Sports Café will temporarily close so that we can begin renovations there as well. But don't worry! We are currently setting up an SSC Pop Up Café in the old ESSF office. Additionally, seating areas will be provided where the lockers currently stand and outside on the grass field by the Dommel River. In this way, you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a snack at the SSC during the summer period and in the new academic year. The lockers will be temporarily relocated to the hallway of changing rooms 4 to 9. Furthermore, the Pavilion will be open from the new academic year onwards, starting 4 September, from Tuesday to Sunday, so you can also enjoy tasty food and drinks there. The Pop Up Café will open on 14 July and will remain in operation until the end of December. Afterwards, we look forward to welcoming you to the Pavilion until our new Sports Café is ready!

Hall 3 & Boulder Wall

Currently, Hall 3 and the Boulder Wall are out of service due to ongoing construction work. They will not be available until 22 August. During this construction, the lighting in Hall 3 will be replaced, and a climate installation system will be installed.

Changing Rooms 5 to 9

Starting from 12 July, the changing rooms between Hall 2 and Hall 3 (changing rooms 5 to 9) will also be unavailable due to construction work until the end of December. We kindly ask all visitors to dress and shower at home as much as possible due to limited capacity. During the introduction period, changing rooms 5 to 9 will be temporarily accessible!

Preliminary Planning

From 28 August onwards, the Sports Café and changing rooms will be demolished and renovated. We aim to complete this phase by the end of April 2024. During the renovation of this part of the SSC, Hall 3 and the swimming pool will remain available and accessible, as well as the walking area leading to these facilities.

We look forward to the exciting transformation that the SSC is undergoing on its path to renewal. While certain parts of our facility may temporarily be unavailable, we strive to create a better environment for our visitors.
